Power Kite Centre

Airboss World is an established Kite Sports Centre in Prestwold that host powerkiting events and also sell all manner of equipment from recreational one line kites and sport kites, to power kites and traction kites that pull you along on a buggy, mountainboard or kite surf board and spare parts. Their physical shop is impressive with everything a powerkiter could wish for on display, so when I was asked to design a new online store for the company I knew it had to be special!
The result is Power Kite Centre; a heavily modified CubeCart based shopping website that has a rock solid code base to ensure safe, secure online shopping and a drop dead gorgeous front end that reflects the excitement of powerkiting and the edgy style of those who do it. The design of the website focused on usability coupled with urban, gritty textures to really convey the feel of powerkiting and target it’s young clientele.
“The new site has made a huge difference to our online sales; they have increased massively which is mostly due to how easy it is to find the product the customer wants and buy it. Matthew has been a tremendous help with the technicalities of running an online store and answered all our questions regarding shipping, product editing, categories and more. It has been a pleasure working with him.”
Gary Grayston - Owner of Airboss World
The popularity of the shop has been incredible and visits reached more than 4,600 (that’s 25,128 hits) in November, which is doubly impressive as the site went live on 9th of that month! To cope with this load the site is hosted on a dedicated server with security supplied by GeoTrust which is supplied and managed by myself.

Indigo People

Indigo People are a recruitment agency for the Health, Beauty and Spa sector and are based in Nottingham. Recruitment Specialist Lucy contacted me to design and build a professional, readable website that reflected their high standards of business which could grow to accommodate the changing needs of the company.
A content management system was essential to enable Indigo personnel to maintain the regularly updated job board and industry news articles (Wordpress lent itself to this perfectly) and a day of training was given to ensure full understanding of the administration process.
“Matthew’s relaxed manner and knowledge of the subject really helped us to understand the potential a well designed website could bring to our company. We will definitely be working with him in future!”
Lucy Thomas - Recruitment Specialist
Domain registration and hosting requirements were explained in full to help the client understand exactly what the options were and support was offered throughout the build. With a deadline of two weeks from sketch pad to launch the project had to be carefully managed.

IGEM House

IGEM House is a modern building based in Kegworth that features three contemporary conference rooms and a traditional Boardroom which are available for hire. The building is owned and ran by the Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers who approached me to complete the marketing strategy for IGEM House with a clean, standards compliant website that would increase exposure and showcase the state-of-the-art facilities available to prospective clients.
The brief featured an extremely tight deadline as IGEM wished to showcase the website at Event UK which was to take place only two weeks after our initial meeting. To ensure the site was delivered on time and in budget I maintained close contact with staff at IGEM House and assisted them with all facets of website development including hosting and domain registration.
